A state trooper from the Butler station was struck by a vehicle while investigating a previous two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Butler County.

The trooper was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries and was in stable condition, according to state police.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the trooper remained at the scene as state police investigated.

Police said the trooper responded at about 2 p.m. to the initial crash reported at the Route 422 exit from Interstate 79 North.

Details of that first crash, near the border of Muddy Creek and Worth townships, weren’t immediately available.
