A truck driver struck two pedestrians on Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough, on Tuesday morning, killing one.

Indiana Borough police said a driver from Alliance Properties Group in Connellsville was making a left turn from North Ninth Street onto Philadelphia around 9:15 a.m., and hit John F. Reeger, 68, of Clarksburg. He and his wife were in the crosswalk, police said.

Reeger was taken to a hospital where he died, according to the Indiana County coroner. His wife, who was not identified in information provided by police, was flown by helicopter to Conemaugh Hospital.

The 800 block of Philadelphia Street was closed for part of the day while state and borough police investigated.
