Indiana inmate hanged himself, coroner says

An inmate died Sunday after hanging himself at the Indiana County Jail, officials said Monday.

Robert Taylor, 31, of Black Lick Township was pronounced dead at UPMC Mercy hospital at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said. Taylor was taken to the hospital after he was found unresponsive at the jail.

The medical examiner ruled Taylor’s death a suicide by hanging.
