A man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Buffington Township, Indiana County.

Steven Paul McCloskey, 26, of Buffington Township was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash on Route 403 in the township, according to Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman.

McCloskey was traveling north on the highway at about 2:45 p.m. when the left side of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was struck by the front of a Honda CR-V as the Honda was crossing the road from Camerons Road on to Shultz Road, Overman said.

McCloskey was wearing a helmet, Overman said.

State police are investigating.

Vintondale and Brush Valley firefighters assisted at the scene.
