Officials are investigating an early Saturday fire that damaged four buildings and displaced two residents in West Aliquippa.

Ten fire departments responded to the three-alarm fire reported at about 4 a.m. in a cluster of buildings between Erie and Main avenues, according to Dave Foringer, chief of the Aliquippa Fire Department.

No one was injured in the blaze, Foringer said.

Two residents escaped safely from an apartment in a tri-plex building that likely will be salvageable, according to Foringer. He said the other structures, including a dwelling that was under renovation and two unoccupied buildings, are expected to be total losses.

All four buildings were on fire when units arrived, but firefighters were able to quickly get the flames under control, Foringer said.
