A driver was killed Wednesday after crashing into a fallen tree in Southhampton Township in Somerset County.

Pennsylvania State Police said it was raining when the crash occurred just before 5 p.m. on Cumberland Highway. It was dark and there were no streetlights in the area, police said.

The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was in the vehicle, state police said.
