Connellsville resident Mary Frazier celebrated her 100th birthday in style with a parade of firefighters and police officers outside her apartment balcony.

Frazier lives at Connellsville Towers senior community, where community manager Leah Bierer and her staff organized the celebration.

Well-wishers were encouraged to drive through Connellsville Towers on Thursday and honk their horns to say “happy birthday.”

Neighbors holding supporting signs lined the streets during the parade. More than 250 people sent birthday cards to Mrs. Frazier.

Mask-wearing firefighters and police officers delivered cookies and cake.

“The isolation caused by the COVID virus has been particularly difficult for seniors like Mrs. Frazier, but our dedicated staff is always looking for new ways to assist our residents,” Bierer said in a statement. “We are so happy that we were able to bring joy to Mary and her family, neighbors and friends during this difficult time.”
