Rankin shooting sends father, son to hospitals

Allegheny County Police are investigating a double shooting in Rankin on Thursday night that sent a father and son to area hospitals.

The 55-year-old father was in stable condition, but the 17-year-old son was in critical condition, according to police.

The shooting in Hawkins Village was reported to 911 at about 9:15 p.m.

Police didn’t identify the victims but said they were seated outside their home when an unknown male suspect approached and shot both of them.

County homicide detectives are leading the investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
