Police: Woman in critical condition after being struck by vehicle

A woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a vehicle while walking her dog in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln Place neighborhood Monday night, officials said.

The woman was found by Pittsburgh police and EMS on Mifflin Road between McElhinny Avenue and Naugle Street around 9 p.m. and was transported to the hospital. Her dog also was injured and was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic by a family member, according to Pittsburgh Pubic Safety Spokeswoman Cara Cruz.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene.

Officials with the Collision Investigation Unit is processing evidence and speaking with witnesses.
