Victim in fatal North Side shooting identified as Penn Hills man

A Penn Hills man was shot to death Thursday evening on Pittsburgh’s North Side, according to Pittsburgh police.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Shayne Evan Strader, 37.

The shooting took place at around 6:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Arch Street. It’s between the National Aviary and Allegheny Traditional Academy.

Police said someone fired 16 rounds from a car and then fled. Pittsburgh police said Strader was shot multiple times. First responders found the victim unresponsive in a vehicle. He was dead at the scene.

There were no other injuries reported.

Police are investigating.
