Police asked for the public’s help Wednesday to find a 12-year-old boy who has gone missing for the second time in two weeks.

Kirill Matveev was last seen 2½ days ago — about noon on Monday in the city’s Arlington neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh police.

This week’s search comes a week after officials reported that Kirill had been found safely and returned home last Wednesday, after initially being reported missing on July 12.

Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz confirmed the same boy is missing again this week.

When asked for more context about the situation, Cruz said officials could not release “any further information at this time.”

Kirill, who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds, police said. He has brown eyes, blonde hair and freckles.

Officials asked anyone with information about Kirill’s whereabouts or who may have spotted the boy to call detectives at (412) 323-7141.

Callers can remain anonymous.
