Police arrested Tuesday a man suspected of robbing a Pleasant Hills bank this week.

Richard D. Parrish, 40, of Jefferson Hills, allegedly confessed to robbing the bank once police tracked him down in Monongahela.

Parrish is accused of robbing the Dollar Bank branch at 500 Clairton Boulevard at about 1 p.m. Monday.

Parrish walked into the bank wearing a dirty wig, green hat and scarf, handed a teller a note saying he had a gun and demanded $5,000, according to the criminal complaint.

He got $4,000, left and drove away, surveillance video showed.

Police tracked down the owner of the getaway car, who cooperated with authorities and told them were he was holed up. The car’s owner told police Parrish used her car and showed her a large amount of cash afterward. She also provided authorities with the wig and scarf Parrish is said to have used to conceal his identity and told police where to find him in Monongahela.

When they tracked him down, he cooperated with authorities and admitted to the robbery, police said.

Parrish was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Michael W. Thatcher, who set bail at $75,000. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing set for Jan. 16. Parrish is charged with robbery, theft, terroristic threats and possessing instruments of crime.
