Allegheny County Police said a Pittsburgh man shot his girlfriend Sunday while attending a party in South Park.

Police said they responded to the shooting at 8:40 p.m. and found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the arm at the Diana Grove picnic shelter.

Investigators said the woman, whose name was not released, was shot during an argument with her boyfriend, Oshai Young, 23, who was still at the park when police arrived. Police said the woman, who had been at the party with her son and Young, was taken to a hospital for treatment and then released.

Young was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license, illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Young was scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon.

Investigators are asking anyone who can provide additional information about the incident to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-255-8477 or contact the department through its social media accounts.
