Duquesne police seized more than 800 bags of heroin and two guns while serving a search warrant Monday night in Duquesne.

Police said they arrested Tosha Daniel Cunningham, 40, after executing the warrant at her home along Lincoln Avenue.

Cunningham allegedly told officers that neither the drugs nor guns were hers, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.

Police said they surrounded the home about 7 p.m. in search of a suspect who was wanted for a crime that occurred in Pittsburgh. Duquesne police could not be reached for more information about the Pittsburgh crime. Pittsburgh police weren’t immediately sure what crime Duquesne police were investigating.

Officers said they noticed a strong odor of marijuana as they spoke with Cunningham and saw bags of marijuana inside her house.

Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant. In the home, police said they found 850 bags of suspected heroin, a few ounces of marijuana, scales, multiple phones, cash, a loaded pistol, a rifle, and ammunition for several other pistol calibers. The guns were located under a couch in the living room, according to the criminal complaint filed in the case.

Police said the woman told them she had no idea who would have had the guns or drugs in her house. She said no other adults live there, but people hang out there from time to time. She couldn’t provide the names of those people to police.

Police charged Cunningham with criminal use of a communication facility, possessing instruments of crime and drug possession. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bond after her arraignment Tuesday.

Anyone who may have accidentally left the items in the house is encouraged to contact the police department at 412- 469-3774.
