Seven, a restaurant and nightclub in Downtown Pittsburgh, was ordered by the Allegheny County Health Department to close for seven days for violating covid-19 regulations.
The health department’s report cited several violations of covid-19 mandates, including employees not wearing masks — a violation of Gov. Tom Wolf’s mandate for universal face coverings throughout Pennsylvania.
According to a Food Safety Assessment Report from the health department, the restaurant refused entrance for the health inspector until Pittsburgh Police forced entry.
Seven’s owners and managers did not return calls requesting comment on Wednesday.
During the inspection, the restaurant also violated capacity mandates, seating customers at the bar, and serving alcohol without food — all violations of Wolf’s targeted mitigation measures that have been in effect since July 15.
The report noted that Seven allowed dine-in service after 11 p.m., an infraction against an order from Allegheny County Health Department that has been in effect since July 17.
The report, dated Aug. 8, said Seven would be required to close for a minimum of seven days. The restaurant is also required to provide a written copy of its covid-19 prevention plan to the commonwealth and the county health department before reopening. Once they reopen, Seven will post a signed copy of a covid-19 safety procedures poster provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Seven was fined $532.
In addition to the covid-19 related violations, the health department also noted three “low risk” violations for garbage dumpsters without lids, missing and loose floor tiles, and unsecured cylinders for the beverage system.
