Police have detained a man in Penn Hills in connection with the shooting of a man in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in a residential area on Wilner Drive north of Robinson Boulevard, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Alicia George said.

When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds to his arm and hand, George said.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was in stable condition and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, George said.

The initial investigation led police to Conestoga Road in Penn Hills, where officers detained an unidentified man, George said.

Further details were not available. The shooting victim has not been identified.

Police are continuing to investigate. Officials ask that anyone with information about the incident call detectives at 412-323-7800.
