Improvement work requiring a traffic crossover on Saw Mill Run Boulevard is scheduled to begin Thursday at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting, according to PennDOT District 11.

The project was originally scheduled to begin May 17 but was delayed. The work will run continuously through mid-July on Route 19.

Northbound traffic will be crossed over into the southbound lanes just north of the Shaler Street Bridge. A single 11-foot lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction of Route 19 in the southbound lanes. When the crossover is implemented, crews will conduct concrete pavement restoration work in the northbound lanes.

The work is part of the $14.55 million improvement project that also includes the replacement of the Shaler Street Bridge over Route 19/51.
