The Carnegie Science Center on Pittsburgh’s North Shore is reducing its hours of operation.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Science Center will be closed to the public every Tuesday through the last Tuesday in April, except for December 31 and April 7. The Science Center will continue to be open seven days a week during the summer.

Two of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History are also closed on Tuesdays except from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In addition, the Andy Warhol Museum is closed on Mondays, making the Carnegie Science Center’s hours of adjustment more in line with its family of museums.

“Like many visitor attractions, including our sister Carnegie Museums, we’ll use this one day a week to repair and maintain exhibits, attend to general facility upkeep, and conduct staff trainings and other staff development programs,” says Interim Director Jason Brown. “It will make the visitor experience even better.”
