The identities of the Penn Hills couple who were found dead Tuesday in what police are calling a murder-suicide were released Wednesday by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Thomas Washington Sr., 63, and Rosemary Washington, 62, were found inside their home in the 100 block of Conestoga Road when Penn Hills police were called at about 6:40 p.m. to check on their welfare, police said.

The medical examiner’s office did not state which one of the couple died as a result of a homicide and which was the suicide

The Allegheny County Police Department Homicide Unit assisted Penn Hills police in the investigation

Anyone with information about what happened can call the county police tip line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
