One of the first Chick-fil-A locations in the Pittsburgh area is closing at the end of the month.
March 31 will be the last day of operations for the Chick-fil-A at Ross Park Mall, according to a sign at the business.
The mall’s food court eatery first opened in August of 1986, according to the company.
Foodies interested in the signature chicken sandwich don’t have to travel far to get their fill (except on Sundays, of course, when the eatery is closed). A standalone Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in May 2017 almost across the street from the mall on McKnight Road.
The restaurant chain has expanded throughout the region, with nearly 20 locations in the area. Mall sites include Westmoreland Mall, the Mall at Robinson and Beaver Valley Mall. Standalone restaurants include: Cranberry, Fox Chapel, Greensburg, Homestead, Monroeville, Pleasant Hills, Robinson, South Hills, Washington and Wexford.
There are also licensed restaurants at Pittsburgh International Airport, the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University and California University of Pennsylvania.
