A husband and wife died Monday morning after a shooting in the parking lot of a McCandless apartment complex, according to Allegheny County Police.

Police said they responded to the 700 block of Duncan Avenue around 8:15 a.m. and found a 23-year-old man behind a dumpster, dead from a gunshot wound, and a 25-year-old woman who had been shot in the head.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Molly Beardsley of Allison Park.

Beardsley had been taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where she died at 9:51 a.m.

County police have yet to identify the man.

Police said no one else was involved in the shootings. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death for both.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
