Vehicle goes over hillside in West Mifflin

One person is in the hospital after their vehicle went over a hillside Thursday morning in West Mifflin, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. in the 4600 block of Lebanon Church Road.

Crews worked to bring the vehicle up the hill and onto a tow truck.

The driver’s condition is unknown.


Police say Uber driver carjacked in Homewood

An Uber driver was carjacked at gunpoint just after 2 a.m. Thursday in Homewood, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Zone 5 police officers responded to the scene of the carjacking at Kedron and Sterett streets. Officers said they spoke with a male Uber driver who told them he picked up two males and drove them to their destination where they forced him out of his vehicle at gunpoint and drove off. The driver was not injured, police said.

Police said they found and pursued the vehicle, chasing it into Penn Hills. The vehicle eventually went up onto a high curb and crashed into a light pole. The driver and passenger got out of the vehicle and were apprehended by K9 units.

The report said one of the K9s helped police locate a weapon, which turned out to be a BB gun.

Both males, one juvenile and one adult, were arrested and face multiple charges, police said.


ATM found on its side in Kennedy Township

An automatic teller machine was spotted Thursday morning on its side near a branch of the Clearview Federal Credit Union in Kennedy Township, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

Police were on the scene just after 4 a.m. investigating along Langer Way.
