Police seek help finding suspect in fatal Braddock shooting
Allegheny County Police said they are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect in the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Braddock.
On Monday, police said Darien Wallace, 18, of Braddock was wanted for a fatal April 1 shooting on Margaretta Street that killed Jeramyah Pollard. A second young man was injured in the shooting.
Wallace is facing charges, including criminal homicide, aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm.
Police said witness interviews led to them discovering there was an altercation at a park and afterward some of the people involved went to a home along Moody Street. According to police, a short time later, Wallace left that home and began pursuing the group, catching up with them and shooting Pollard and the other victim.
Police said Wallace is considered armed and dangerous and have asked anyone who sees him not to approach him and to instead call 911.
Police also said anyone with information about where he is should call 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477).
McKnight Road closures
Nightly closures along McKnight Road are set to begin Tuesday evening.
Starting at 8 p.m., a single-lane will be closed in each direction between the Evergreen Road and Babcock Boulevard interchange and Nelson Run Road. The nightly closures will last until 6 a.m. through April 19.
According to PennDot, crews will be replacing the barrier along the corridor and place shielding on the McKnight Road structure over Babcock Boulevard.
The work is continuation of a $26.99 million McKnight Road improvement project.
