Eat’n Park robbed in Monroeville
Eat’n Park in Monroeville was robbed Sunday — the second time this year, according to the Monroeville Police Department.
Police responded to the Monroeville Boulevard restaurant after two managers said they were held at gunpoint. No injuries were reported. The suspect got away with about $3,500.
The restaurant also was robbed in January.
Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers described the suspect as a Black man standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and said he was wearing dark clothes and a mask. He was carrying a handgun and a satchel.
In the January incident, Crime Stoppers said a man stole $543 from the manager’s safe and an employee’s vehicle. In the latest incident, the report said he stole about $3,500 from the manager’s safe and ran toward Monroeville Boulevard.

“At Eat’n Park, our Team Members are the heart of our company, and it has always been our priority to ensure their safety in the workplace,” according to a statement by Eat’n Park spokeswoman Courtney Caprara.
“Our team, including our CEO and COO, have been actively onsite at our Monroeville restaurant to provide care, to listen, and to address any concerns our Team Members may have around this incident.”
Fire in Baldwin
Crews battled a fire in Baldwin early Wednesday, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.
The fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. at a home along Travis Drive.
No injuries were reported.
Smoke poured from the roof while firefighters used a ladder to spray down the hotspots.
Officials did not say what started the fire or detail the extent of the damages.
Evans City-Seven Fields police department in jeopardy
The Evans City-Seven Fields Police Department is in danger of closing down, according to Trib news partner WPXI.
With just two officers, the regional department isn’t able to provide coverage around the clock. There are 35 shifts of work available each week but the two officers are able to cover just 10 of them.
State police have been filling in the rest of the time.
If the regional department closes, WPXI reports officials say officers from different communities would be enlisted to cover the area.
There are about 4,700 people who live in the area.
