McKeesport officers back on duty

McKeesport police department returned to work Monday, two weeks after the shooting death of one of its officers, Sean Sluganski.

A Facebook post from the Mayor’s Office said people can support the department through a meal train organized by Mission Agape: The McKeesport Agape Center.

Monetary donations are being accepted to pay for food and restaurant gift cards to feed the 47 members of the department.

Since Monday, $300 of a $5,000 goal has been raised.

Crash along McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge

A crash Monday on the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge sent two people to the hospital, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

The extent of injuries is not clear.

Emergency crews responded to the scene just before 9:40 p.m., according to Allegheny County 911.

Emergency crews honored in Brentwood

First responders in Brentwood were honored Monday for their actions in a Dec. 21 fire.

A borough Facebook post said volunteers were heroic during the incident, saving a female from the building along Brentwood Avenue.

Recognized were Brentwood and neighboring fire departments, Baldwin EMS and Brentwood police.

“We are grateful for their services,” the post read.
