An Ohio man died in a fall Thursday morning while making repairs to the roof of a Neville Island plant, according to police.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Chris M. Byler, 19, of Andover. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before 9:30 a.m. after falling from a roof at Allegheny Recycled Products in the 4200 block of Grand Avenue.

According to its website, the company repairs and re-manufactures pallets.

Byler was employed by an outside contractor, according to Sgt. Adam Beck of the Ohio Township Police Department.

Township police are investigating the fall, reported at about 9:15 a.m., as are officials from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

No one else was injured, according to police.
