Motorists who travel along Geyer Road in Shaler will need to find a detour.

The road is expected to be closed through late-January, beginning Thursday, PennDOT announced.

The shutdown impacts the section from Mt. Troy Road to Babcock Boulevard.

Contractors will be on site for drainage repairs which will close the road around-the-clock, except to those who live along the stretch.

Allison Park Contractors was awarded the work.

A suggested detour is Mt. Troy Road to Evergreen and Peoples roads, and then on to Babcock Boulevard.
