A Duquesne man remained in jail Tuesday after, police said, he raped a 10-year-old girl he knew and forced her to perform sex acts on another boy.

Quavon McMillan, 20, was charged Feb. 1 with rape, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and one count each of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and corruption of minors, court records show.

Police said they found McMillan hiding Monday in a McKeesport basement and arrested him. He was arraigned and a judge denied his bail, court records show.

Police learned of the sexual abuse in November, when two children tested positive for gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease, at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, according to a criminal complaint in the case.

One of the children told police about McMillan’s actions, the complaint said. McMillan had abused the girl over a period of two years, including at a home in Pittsburgh, according to the complaint.

He also forced her to perform sex acts on a boy she knew, police said.

McMillan’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20.
