Power outages that had impacted thousands of Duquesne Light customers in Allegheny County on Sunday were mostly resolved by shortly before 6 p.m., according to the utility.
Earlier in the day, outages were affecting about 1,500 customers in the areas of Mt. Oliver, Allentown and the South Side slopes.
About 1,200 people were without electricity in Coraopolis and surrounding communities.
As of about 6 p.m., Duquesne Light was reporting just 17 customers without power. Most of those, 13, were in Mt. Lebanon, where the cause was identified as an object on a line.
Wire damage was the cause of an outage affecting fewer than five customers on the North Side.
The cause of outages impacting the others in the South Side Slopes and Mount Oliver area was under investigation.
More power outages are possible on Monday, when high winds are expected in the area. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory that will be in effect from 1 a.m. Monday to 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Winds of 15 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected and could blow down tree limbs and cause power outages.
