A man was taken to an area hospital after his car crashed into a Knoxville home and caught fire around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Pittsburgh police said.

Firefighters pulled him out of the car, and he was listed in stable condition.

No one was injured inside the home, located in the 200 block of Reifert Street.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash as a probable drug overdose.

One woman living on the first floor of the home was displaced and is staying with family members .

Another man living on the second floor was being helped out of the house by firefighters because the staircase is impassable, police said. The Red Cross will help him with temporary housing.

The city’s Department of Permits. Licenses, and Inspections will examine the integrity of the structure.

Pittsburgh police, Fire and EMS responded.
