Ten people and two cats were rescued from a house fire early Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Fire crews were dispatched around 1 a.m. to the 800 block of Woods Run Avenue. The blaze was brought under control around 1:45 a.m., Public Safety said.

Six adults and four juveniles were reported safely outside the home. Firefighters rescued three of the children and a young adult from a second-floor window, Public Safety said. Two cats also were rescued from the home. A third cat died in the fire.

One of the residents, a 17-year-old boy with autism, was missing overnight. He was found around 3:30 a.m. on Lecky Avenue and evaluated by medics on scene, Public Safety said.
