Big acts at PPG
The Chainsmokers and Carrie Underwood will be doing back-to-back shows Friday and Saturday at PPG Paints Arena.
Andrew “Drew” Taggart and Alex Pall — the musicians who make up The Chainsmokers — are touring in support of their latest album, “World War Joy.” The main stage will be set up in three sections. The guys have 14 million followers on Spotify.
Underwood brings her Cry Pretty Tour 360 on Saturday. Underwood’s sixth studio album, “Cry Pretty,” after which the tour is named, was released in September 2018, as the singer and songwriter’s first album with Capitol Records Nashville.
She suffered a serious fall in November 2017 outside her Nashville home which required surgery for a broken wrist and facial injuries.
The 2005 “American Idol” winner has sold 64 million records worldwide and recorded 26 No. 1 singles, 13 of which she co-wrote. She has earned seven Grammy Awards. “Cry Pretty” debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Album and Billboard 200 charts.

Wiz at Pitt
You know what it is.
Wiz Khalifa will be in Pittsburgh on Friday night.
The rapper and Allderdice graduate will perform at Petersen Events Center in Oakland during Blue and Gold Madness, an annual men’s and women’s basketball event. It’s the official opening of the NCAA season.
The men’s team will play a 15-minute scrimmage and the women’s team will play a 10-minute running clock scrimmage during the event. DJ Bonics, Khalifa’s DJ and a Pitt alum, will emcee.

Park after dark
The final Frick Park After Dark event is Friday. Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, it’s a 21+ series held at the Frick Environmental Center on Beechwood Boulevard in Squirrel Hill. The night includes an indoor workshop with Third Day Luxury Soaps and Herbal Gardens, live music by Rhythm ‘n’ Steel, adult beverages from Wigle Whiskey, and food from Revival Chili.
Attendees have the option to purchase an all-inclusive ticket, which gains entry to the indoor workshop and live music, and includes two drinks and a food truck voucher. There is also an option for a ticket that includes access to the indoor workshop and live music.

It’s ‘Golden’
You’ve probably seen reruns of “The Golden Girls,” the comedy featuring Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose. Now, you can see them in a live stage version of the 1980s sitcom.
The show, “That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody,” will be on stage Friday and Saturday at the Benedum Center, Downtown.
Written and directed by Jonathan Rockefeller, the show parodies classic “Golden Girls” moments.
The 90-minute performance contains strong adult language and themes.

Heart care
The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk celebrates 25 years on Saturday along Rooney Avenue on the North Shore. Since the inception of the walk, mortality rates from cardiovascular disease and stroke have plummeted by 45 percent, according the American Heart Association. About 2,300 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day, an average of 1 death every 38 seconds. Allegheny County has one of the highest rates of cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke.
Participants can learn about the heart at the Allegheny Health Network’s inflatable heart exhibit. There will be a pet zone, a selfie photo booth and kids’ fun area.
