Two men died in a shooting Thursday evening in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood.
At 5:15 p.m., Pittsburgh police responded to the 1200 block of Linnview Avenue for reports of a shooting, said Eliza Durham, public safety spokeswoman.
Officers found two men who had been shot multiple times, Durham said.
EMS took both men to an undisclosed hospital in grave condition, she said. When they arrived, the men were pronounced dead.
They were identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office as Quaziah Jones, 23, of McKeesport and Damien Powell, 27. Powell’s hometown was not available.
The examiner’s office on Friday listed both of manner of deaths as homicide. The cause of death listed for Powell was a penetrating gunshot wound of the torso, and Jones’ was a perforating gunshot wound of the chest.
Investigators recovered two guns from the scene.
Durham said a person possibly connected to the incident ran from the scene, along Nobles Lane. That person has not been arrested.
Officers were reviewing surveillance camera footage in the area and interviewing witnesses, she said.
