Here’s another Steel City superlative that you probably suspected: Pittsburgh is the cloudiest city in the United States. According to worldatlas.com, the ‘Burgh averages 77% cloud cover and sees the sun for about 2,021 hours annually.

So where to go for a dose of Old Sol? Here are the sunniest U.S. cities with more than 1 million population, according to currentresults.com: Phoenix, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Miami.

Or bask in the glow of knowing things are worse elsewhere. Here are some international cities and their annual hours of sun: Tórshavn, Faroe Islands — 840; Lima, Peru — 1,230; Reykjavik, Iceland — 1,236; Edinburgh, Scotland — 1,427; and Taipei, Taiwan — 1,405.
