KENNEDY SPACE CENTER CELEBRATES MOON LANDING

Visitors to Florida this summer may want to take a break from sand, surf and sun for a stop at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Merritt Island.

An ongoing series of events, exhibits, films and giveaways honors the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo Program and the historic Apollo 11 moon landing.

On July 20, the date of the 1969 moon landing, the center will host a “One Giant Leap Celebration” with screening of historic lunar landing footage, the unveiling of the world’s largest Moon Pie, photos with astronaut Neil Armstrong’s wax figure provided by Madame Tussauds and more.
