Pittsburgh Winter Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show will include a large number of vendors selling 100% handmade goods.
The series of festivals held year-round throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania showcase local artisans and crafters.
This winter’s show is set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 7 at Teamsters Local Union 249, 4701 Butler St., Lawrenceville.
Visitors can shop for items ranging from dog and cat accessories, jewelry made out of precious gemstones and other arts and crafts, and purchase lunch at the concessions area.
“It is so inspiring to be surrounded by a room full of creatives putting their work out there for the world to see. I can always tell by the crowd’s positive reaction that the talent is top notch, which is why I love running the shows,” says founder Becki Silverstein in a release.
The shows help small businesses grow, Silverstein says, and give back to local communities. To date, the shows have raised more than $50,000 for local nonprofits, she adds.
Avant-Garde teams up with a nonprofit at each show to raise money and awareness for its cause. The Pittsburgh show’s beneficiary is Girls on the Run, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring girls to have the confidence to reach their full potential through curriculums that creatively integrate running.
Admission is $3, free to those under 12.
