A journey down the rabbit hole is planned for this year’s Garden Party at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley.
Guests are invited to get as mad as a hatter for the 18th annual fundraiser on July 27, this year with an “Alice in Wonderland” theme.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception in the SAMA gallery at 1 Boucher Lane, Ligonier Township.
Guests will have the opportunity to view the museum’s featured exhibition, “The View from My Easel: Pastel Landscapes of the East Coast,” with pastel works by New Jersey-based artist Stan Sperlak.
The exhibition features approximately 65 pieces inspired by the landscapes of South Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
Following the reception, guests will make their way to the Ligonier Country Club, where they will be greeted by “Alice in Wonderland characters” and enjoy cocktails, gourmet cuisine, music by The Rick Purcell Band and flamingo croquet. Live and silent auction items will include artwork, antiques, collectibles, garden accessories and gift baskets.
“Imagine peering through the looking glass and stepping into a wonderland of exciting entertainment. That is what you will experience at this year’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’ Garden Party,” says Kristin Miller, SAMA-Ligonier Valley site coordinator. “We have an enchanting evening planned for our guests that will provide an array of lively music, charming games, beautiful auction items and much more.”
Garden party tickets are $125. Reservations are needed by July 19.
