Victory Brinker, a 9-year-old opera singer from Unity Township, made “America’s Got Talent” history Tuesday night, becoming the first “AGT” competitor to earn a “Golden Buzzer” from all four judges, advancing her to this season’s live shows later this summer.

In the episode that aired on Tuesday but taped in April, Brinker spoke of her love of singing. Her mother, Christine Brinker, was also featured.

“There’s nothing more touching as a parent than to see your child do what they love to do,” Christine said. “She’s just this little girl but I had no doubt she’d give it her all.”

Before her performance, judge Simon Cowell asked Victory to tell the judging panel a little bit about herself.

“I live in Latrobe, Pennsylvania,” Victory said and then seemed to blank on what to say next.

“Annnndd?” Cowell prodded.

“And what?” Victory asked to laughs and applause from the audience and judges.

Later Cowell asked what she’d do if she won the “AGT” top prize of $1 million.

“Buy Simon a rainbow shirt that has glitter on it!” Victory said without hesitation.

“Do you think I need a rainbow shirt?” asked Cowell, who usually sports white, gray and black shirts.

“You need some color,” Victory replied.

Victory’s performance of “Juliet’s Waltz” from Charles Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” earned standing ovations from three of the four judges (only Cowell remained seated).

“You’re angelic,” said Howie Mandel.

“You have a beautiful voice,” said Heidi Klum, “You are incredible!”

“You are a star,” said Sofia Vergara. “You have a powerful voice, I really loved it.”

Then Cowell called host Terry Crews over and in a quiet voice asked, “How would you feel if we were to do something different?”

After that the judges announced in unison Victory’s “Golden Buzzer” achievement, complete with gold confetti showering down on her on stage.

Victory Brinker’s “AGT” success will be featured on the July 7 edition of “NBC Nightly News” at 6:30 p.m. on WPXI-TV.
