Wrestling legend Ric Flair was rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital after suffering what TMZ Sports reported was a “very serious” medical emergency.

TMZ said the 70-year-old WWE Hall of Famer was in the Atlanta area when “something went wrong,” and he was taken to the emergency room to be treated.

Representatives for Flair did not respond to requests for comment from TMZ.

However, Flair’s son-in-law, Conrad Thompson, said later Thursday that Flair went in for a scheduled surgery and that the situation was not as bad as TMZ reported.

This latest incident comes less than two years after Flair was placed in a medically induced coma for 11 days after his intestine ruptured.

Flair had surgery to remove part of his bowel and have a pacemaker inserted while hospitalized in 2017.

During his recovery, Flair said in an ESPN interview that he had would consume up to 4,000 calories in booze before stepping into the ring for shows when his career began in the 1970s.

“It scared the (expletive) out of me,” Flair told People TV while recovering from the 2017 surgery. “I never want to go through this again.”
