Butler County resident June M. Ruff died Tuesday afternoon of injuries she sustained after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening, according to a report from the Allegheny Medical Examiner’s office.

Ruff, 62, of Slippery Rock was struck in the 400 block of Main Street in Evans City, Butler County around 6:20 p.m. Monday, said state police Trooper Bertha Cazy.

Police said Ruff was walking along East Main Street in the borough when she started to walk across the road near the intersection with Franklin Street. She was struck while in the eastbound lane by a Ford Mustang driven by Alexander Kocko of Lyndora, Butler County. Police said Kocko stopped and attempted to render aid to Ruff and remained at the scene.

Ruff was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh’s Central Northside neighborhood, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
