Emergency crews were called to an Arnold neighborhood Saturday night for a house fire that displaced four people.
Westmoreland 911 said a call for a two-alarm fire on the 1800 block of Kimball Avenue came in just after 8 p.m. Dispatchers said everyone was out of the home by the time fire crews were on the scene.
Chris O’Leath, spokesman for the Arnold Fire Department, said the fire was caused by an electrical issue on the third floor. Crews had the flames knocked down and under control in under an hour.
While nobody was injured directly from the fire, one resident was taken to the hospital for a medical incident, O’Leath said.
He said the damage to the home is repairable, but the structure is currently uninhabitable.
“We contacted the Red Cross to assist the residents,” O’Leath said.
A local organization, the Speed Family Blessing Box, is also helping those affected.
