Man shot in Aliquippa
A man was shot at an Aliquippa bar over the weekend, according to police.
Aliquippa police said they were dispatched at 11:45 p.m. Saturday to Kendrew’s Lounge along Brodhead Road for reports of a man that had been shot.
At the scene, officers learned two men had been arguing and, during the confrontation, one them pulled out a gun and shot the other, police said. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving, police said.
The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital and “was not cooperative with police on scene,” Aliquippa police said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Trecardi Goosby, 30.
Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation.
Carnegie grocery store ordered to close
The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered Rahma Grocery in Carnegie to close.
The store, at 409 E. Main St., was found to have six violations after an inspection last week.
The report said the store’s meat saw was soiled with multiple types of meat, including raw fish and raw beef.
It also said the store had an active German roach infestation, with “too many to count” dead roaches throughout the building and roach activity seen in the ceilings and walls. The store told inspectors they use a professional pest control service monthly, but did not provide an invoice for those services, the report said.
The grocery store was ordered to stop food processing operations in late December because the building didn’t have hot water, the report said. During a second inspection, gas services had not been turned on, and there was still no hot water. The store is accused of violating the order.
Other violations in the report included a walk-in freezer with a 40-degree temperature, “chronic food debris” on shelves and a lack of handwashing soap.
