Roman Wilson was upgraded to a full practice participant Thursday, indicating he could be on track to make his NFL debut Sunday.

Wilson, a rookie receiver drafted in the third round, fully practiced for the second time since suffering an ankle injury less than a week into training camp at Saint Vincent. If Wilson proves healthy during the final practice of the week Friday, two days later, he could serve as the No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in the Steelers’ home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Every day I come in here I feel like I’m getting a little bit better,” Wilson said Thursday. “That’s all I can really focus on, having a good attitude and getting better every day.”

The league-mandated status report comes out after Friday’s practice.

Starting left guard Isaac Seumalo remains out of practice and is on track to miss a third consecutive game because of a pectoral injury. Also missing practice because of injury Thursday was tight end MyCole Pruitt, who suffered a knee injury during this past Sunday’s win at the Denver Broncos.

Three veterans who were held out of at least part of Wednesday’s practice by coach Mike Tomlin for reasons of rest — running back Najee Harris, outside linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi — returned to full participation Thursday. Defensive lineman Cameron Heyward was given the “veterans day off” treatment Thursday.

Starting quarterback Russell Wilson remains listed as a limited practice participant because of a calf injury.
