Four days after playing every defensive snap in his Pittsburgh Steelers debut, inside linebacker Patrick Queen sat out Thursday’s practice. According to the league-mandated injury report, Queen has a groin injury.

Queen previously had not been mentioned as being injured. He practiced fully Wednesday and was upbeat in speaking with reporters Thursday morning before practice.

Queen played 56 snaps in this past Sunday’s 18-10 win at the Atlanta Falcons.

The Steelers have one final full practice before their official status report is released Friday in advance of their Week 2 game at the Denver Broncos.

Rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson could be in line to make his NFL debut in that game. On Thursday, he practiced fully for the first time since suffering an ankle injury during the first week of training camp more than a month ago.

Additionally, veteran defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi (knee) returned to full practice participation after being limited Wednesday. It is not uncommon for coach Mike Tomlin to give Ogunjobi so-called “veterans days off.” Thursday, that designation was afforded to 35-year-old defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.

Starting quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) remained limited, and starting left guard Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) remained out, but starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. (ankle) returned to full work.
