Steelers bring back special-teamer Tyler Matakevich on 1-year deal

One of the top special teams players in recent Pittsburgh Steelers history is returning to the organization.

Linebacker Tyler Matakevich was signed to a one-year contract Wednesday.

Matakevich was taken by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2016 draft. He spent four years with the Steelers before joining the Buffalo Bills in free agency. Matakevich spent the past four seasons in Buffalo.

Matakevich has appeared in 129 games over eight seasons and has totaled 47 tackles, four pass breakups and one interception.

He was a three-time special teams captain in Buffalo.
