A man who was fatally shot in Export this week will be remembered at a luncheon on Sunday, according to his obituary.

Police said Daniel T. “Slim” Chicka Jr., 65, of Avonmore, had been in a dispute over parking with another man when he was shot Tuesday on Madison Avenue.

No charges related to the 2 p.m. shooting have been filed. Matthew A. Miller, 32, was taken into custody at the scene. Police filed drug offenses against him after troopers reported finding marijuana plants in his basement during their investigation.

Miller was not hurt. Troopers said the parking dispute between the two men had been ongoing for months.

Chicka’s obituary said he worked as a carpenter. He is survived by a daughter, three brothers, a longtime girlfriend and other relatives. His family previously declined to comment to TribLive.

The luncheon will begin at 1 p.m. at the Slickville American Legion at 2958 Route 819.
