One person was transported to a hospital Saturday afternoon following a vehicle crash on McKnight Road in Ross.

The person was driving near the 7800 block of McKnight Road around 12:45 p.m. when they crashed into an electrical pole, according to Brian Kohlhepp, public information officer for the Ross Township Police Department.

The driver appears to have suffered a medical condition while driving, which may have caused the crash, Kohlhepp said. The driver’s medical status is unknown, he said.

Southbound lanes on McKnight Road are closed because of the downed power lines between Browns Lane and Peebles Road, Kohlhepp said.

Duquesne Light is addressing the downed power lines and the southbound lanes are expected to reopen around 8 p.m.

More than 600 people in Ross Township are without power, according to Duquesne Light’s online outage tracker. Power is expected to return to the area around 4 p.m., Kohlhepp said.
