The Pittsburgh Pirates’ merchandise store at PNC Park on the city’s North Shore caught fire Friday night as the Pirates were getting ready to play in San Francisco, public safety officials said.

Pittsburgh firefighters brought the fire at the Fanatics Pirates Clubhouse Store on Federal Street under control within 20 minutes, officials said. Firefighters had received the alarm shortly before 8:30 p.m.

The one-alarm fire was caused by an accidental electrical system failure, officials said.

It was the second time that firefighters were dispatched to the store Friday night. The firefighters did not find any fire when they responded to a fire alarm that was activated shortly before 7:30 p.m., said Emily Bourne, a spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Public Safety.

No injuries were reported, and there was no information available early Saturday morning on the extent of damages.
