The first task for newly promoted Duquesne men’s basketball coach Dru Joyce III will be to reload the Dukes’ roster.

Not only will Duquesne lose seven players to graduation, the Dukes also had two reserves enter the transfer portal this week.

Freshman guard Kaillon Nicholls, who averaged 1.0 point and 0.9 assists, and junior forward Andy Barba (1.2 ppg) announced their plans to transfer.

David Dixon (7.2 ppg), Kareer Rozier (5.2 ppg), Halil Barre (2.0) and walk-on Jake DiMichele (6.4) were all starters at points during the season and remain on the roster.

Duquesne went 25-12 this season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

The Dukes reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1977.
