Avella man killed in Washington County crash

A 21-year-old man was killed early Friday morning after a crash in Independence Township in Washington County.

Pennsylvania State Police said Anthony G. Georgetti of Avella was traveling westbound on Washington Pike when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.

The crash was reported to county 911 around 3:15 a.m.

Georgetti was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Washington County Coroner’s report. Georgetti was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police are investigating.
